De Hoop Village bietet Unterkunft in neun schönen Cottages im De Hoop Nature Reserve. Dieses Weltkulturerbe bietet die besten Walbeobachtungen im südlichen Afrika. Das Meeresschutzgebiet, das sich fünf Kilometer vom Meer entfernt erstreckt, ist eines der größten Meeresschutzgebiete Afrikas und bietet eine große Vielfalt an Meereslebewesen.
Unterkunft für Selbstversorger
De Hoop Village am Opstal bietet neun atemberaubende Cottages in weiß getünchten Fischerhäusern. Jedes Cottage bietet Platz für sechs Gäste in drei Schlafzimmern. Eines der Schlafzimmer hat ein Doppelbett oder zwei Einzelbetten, das zweite Zimmer hat zwei Einzelbetten und das dritte Zimmer hat Etagenbetten. Es gibt ein Badezimmer mit Dusche und kostenlosen Toilettenartikeln.
Die Cottages verfügen über einen Wohnbereich mit offenem Schnitt und eine Küche mit einem Esstisch. Die Küche verfügt über einen Wasserkocher, Toaster, Kühl- / Gefrierschrank, Herd / Backofen, Geschirr / Besteck etc.
Draußen gibt es einen Grillplatz.
Der Bereich
Dieses besondere Reservat liegt in der Region Overberg nahe der Südspitze Afrikas und ist weniger als drei Stunden von Kapstadt entfernt. Es liegt in der Nähe von Arniston, Swellendam und dem Breede River.
Erleben und entdecken
Interpretative Spaziergänge durch die Fynbos zu den Felsenpools und geführte Vogelwanderungen sind nur einige der angebotenen Aktivitäten sowie Walbeobachtungen und Wildbeobachtungen. Der prächtige Nachthimmel eignet sich zur Stern- und Sternbildidentifikation.
Vier Mountainbikestrecken durchqueren das Reservat, so dass man die gesamte Artenvielfalt von De Hoop erleben kann. Der kürzlich eingeführte Wanderweg muss im Voraus gebucht werden und bedeckt eine ähnliche Küste wie der gut etablierte "Whale Trail".
